Mass Poisoning of Cattle in Mirpurkhas Highlights Brutality of Human Nature

On December 04, 2024, In Jhando Kaloi village near Digri town. more than 60 cattle including goats and sheep died after eating poisonous grass and drinking from contaminated water.

The reasons are yet unidentified but, the owners of the cattle suspect a conspiracy behind the mass deaths, believing that their rivals might have poisoned the cattle by spraying the piece of field with pesticides and mixing poison in the watercourse. It’s not an isolated incident, either – in the past, we’ve seen similar cases of animal cruelty, where personal rivals always lead to brutal acts against innocent animals. Remember when the camel’s leg was cut off in Sindh?

These acts of cruelty are unacceptable and must be stopped. We must come together to condemn such brutal acts of animal cruelty and work towards creating a more compassionate society for all living beings.
